The Burg Stolpen  The medieval castle was 1222 for the first time ever diplomatic mentioned. In this large castle complex you'll find dark dungeons, intricate basements, torture chamber, the Johannis - or Coseltower, the castle fountain and more buildings, which are used for varying exposition and museum purposes. Especially known is the Burg Stolpen because of the destiny from the mistress of August des Starken, Anna Constantia countess of Cosel. She was captured here between 1716 - 1765. Over 49 years, the most part of her life, she had to spend there on the castle. Her grave you can find in the castle chapel. The visit of the Burg Stolpen will be like an excursion through the centuries.
